NASCAR-TALLADEGA - Brian Vickers finally earned his firstNextel Cup victory, and it's a controversial one. Vickers turned teammate Jimmie Johnson into race leader DaleEarnhardt Junior before skirting by the two spinning cars on thelast lap to take the U-A-W/Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The finish robbed Earnhardt of what seemed to be a sure victoryas he headed out of the final turn and toward the checkered flag. Vickers was showered by boos as he climbed out of his car atVictory Lane. Kasey Kahne (kayn) finished second, followed by Kurt Busch, MattKenseth and Martin Truex Junior. Kenseth was able to climb intosecond in the Nextel Cup points race, just six behind Jeff Burton.Mark Martin is 14 points back.
