NEW YORK (AP) - Saying he was "young" and "stupid" and "naive," New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez is admitting to using steroids from 2001 to 2003 while he was with the Texas Rangers. A-Rod says he quit using steroids after 2003, his first of three AL MVP seasons.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Tom Hicks, the Texas owner who first made Alex Rodriguez baseball's highest-paid player, says he feels "personally betrayed" after the slugger's admission that he used performance-enhancing drugs while with the Rangers. Hicks says he feels "very sorry and deeply regretful" and was caught surprise by A-Rod's admission.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barrack Obama weighed in on A-Rod by saying it was "depressing news" and that it "tarnishes an entire era to a certain decree" in baseball. The president added he hoped it sends a message to young people that if you take shortcuts in
any endeavor, it threatens your integrity and your entire career.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have no knowledge that Ben Roethlisberger played the Super Bowl with two broken ribs, as the quarterback told a Web site. According to
SI.com, Roethlisberger said his fractured ribs did not show up on X-rays taken before he led the Steelers to a 27-23 win over Arizona on Feb. 1, but were revealed during an MRI test last week.

UNDATED (AP) - Troubled cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones is looking for a team again. The Dallas Cowboys cut Jones, who didn't endear himself to the team after he was suspended for six games by the NFL after an alcohol-related scuffle in October with a team-provided bodyguard at a Dallas hotel.
