ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-0 yesterday. Tony Romo threw a pair of touchdown passes and the defense took over from there. By winning, Dallas earned the right to play the Eagles in the Playoffs once again next weekend at the Cowboys new stadium.
MIAMI (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers barely hung onto a fourth-quarter lead winning 30-24 yesterday over the Miami Dolphins. Even though the Steelers won, they were still eliminated
from the playoffs yesterday.A swarming Steelers defense sent two Miami quarterbacks to the sideline, one (Pat White) with a scary head injury.
DENVER (AP) - Allen Iverson scored 17 points, Elton Brand added 16 and the Philadelphia 76ers held off a furious rally to beat the injury-riddled Denver Nuggets 108-105 last night. It was the end of the 76ers 5-game road trip out west.
OTTAWA (AP) - Alex Kovalev broke a lengthy scoring slump with four goals and added an assist yesterday and the Ottawa Senators beat the Philadelphia Flyers 7-4 in a wild contest that saw both teams make goaltending changes after poor starts. Arron Asham scored once for the Flyers, and Ian Laperriere Darroll Powe and Mike Richards scored on the power play.
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Radek Dvorak scored three goals for his third NHL hat trick, and Tomas Vokoun stopped 46 shots as the Florida Panthers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-2 last night,
sending the Stanley Cup champions to their season-high, fifth straight loss. Sidney Crosby and Tyler Kennedy scored first-period goals for Pittsburgh, which has lost 6 of 7.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Gabriela Marginean scored 23 points and hit four free throws in the final 29.7 seconds to lift Drexel past No. 25 James Madison 68-67 yesterday.Taylor Wootton and Jasmina Rosseel added 11 points apiece for the Dragons who beat a Top 25 team for
the first time.
EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Jim Mower scored 21 points, one of four Lafayette players in double figures, as the Leopards defeated Pennsylvania 77-62 yesterday.
