WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Monday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown scored on an
89-yard kickoff return to open the game, and the Steelers forced
seven turnovers in defeating the Tennessee Titans 19-11 yesterday.
Quarterback Dennis Dixon hurt his left knee and was replaced by
Charlie Batch. But the Steelers swarmed the Titans and came up with
four sacks and forced the most turnovers by Tennessee since 2000.

DETROIT (AP) - Michael Vick's second touchdown pass put the
Eagles ahead just before halftime and they had to hold late on to
beat the Lions 35-32. Vick was 21 of 34 for 284 yards with two TDs,
ran for 37 yards and avoided losses with spin moves and slick
steps. Running back LeSean McCoy added three touchdowns.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia's Jayson Werth hit a two-run
walk-off homer in the ninth inning after Ryan Howard had a two-run
single to lift the Phillies to their seventh straight win, 7-6 over
the Washington Nationals yesterday. Werth's homer off Drew Storen
helped the Phillies maintain their three-game lead in the NL East
over the Atlanta Braves.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Phillies centerfielder Shane Victorino went
0-for-4 and had an 11-game hitting streak come to en end in
yesterday's 7-6 win over the Nationals. Victorino who was ejected
in the sixth inning by third base umpire Angel Hernandez after a
checked swing was ruled a third strike.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh's Neil Walker hit a two-run homer
in the Pirates' three-run eighth inning and the Bucs beat the
Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 yesterday to complete a three-game sweep.
Andrew McCutchen hit a leadoff drive in the first and finished with
two hits for Pittsburgh, which has the worst record in baseball but
has won five of its last six home games.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - The star tailback in Happy Valley has
turned into an offensive question mark. Penn State senior Evan
Royster went over 3,000 rushing yards in his career in the 24-0 win
Saturday over Kent State, though he finished the game with just 38
yards on 11 carries. The senior hasn't run for more than 40 in a
game this season.
