CINCINNATI (AP) - Elusive Derek Kinder turned Tyler Palko's sideline passes into a pair of long touchdowns in the third quarter as Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 33-to-15. It was the first time Pitt won on the road since beating South Florida and Notre Dame in its final two road games in 2004. Next week, Pitt hosts Michigan State.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Although both Notre Dame and Penn State are traditional football powers, today's game at Notre Dame will be their first meeting in 14 years. The two schools have played just 17 times. The series is tied at eight wins apiece, with one tie game.

MIAMI (AP) - Ryan Howard hit his 55th and 56th home runs and Jamie Moyer pitched eight solid innings to help the Phillies beat the Florida Marlins, 3-to-2. Howard hit a two-run drive in the sixth and a solo shot in the eighth for his seventh multi homer game this season. The series at Florida concludes tonight.

CINCINNATI (AP) - Adam Dunn and Javier Valentin homered in consecutive at-bats to power the Cincinnati Reds to a 9-to-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was Dunn's 40th homer. Ian Snell is 12-and-10 with the loss. The Pirates play at Cincinnati again tonight.

MOOSIC, Pa. (AP) - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons got seven strong innings from starter Justin Germano to beat the Rochester Red Wings 6-to-3. Rochester leads two games to one in the best-of-five International League semifinals. Game four is tonight at Lackawanna County Stadium.
