WASHINGTON (AP) - "If you didn't like Harry Kalas, you didn't like anybody." That was the reaction of veteran Milwaukee announcer Bob Uecker to the death of beloved Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, whose signature home run call "Outta here" will be heard no more. The 73-year-old Kalas died yesterday after being found unconscious in the broadcast booth in Washington before the Phils beat the Nationals 9-8. Kalas joined the Phillies in 1971 after calling Houston Astros games. He was awarded the Baseball Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award for his contributions to the game in 2002. When announcing the death of Kalas, Phillies president David Montgomery said, with his voice cracking, "We lost our voice today." The Kalas family issued a statement saying they were "overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and affection from all of Harry's fans and friends across America. Especially the Phillies fans whom he loved as much as the game of baseball itself."
