PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles running back Brian Westbrook will
visit two concussion specialists in Pittsburgh today. Westbrook
sustained his second concussion in three weeks during
Philadelphia's 31-23 loss at San Diego on Sunday. The 30-year-old
former All-Pro suffered his first career concussion on Oct. 26
against Washington.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers star safety Troy Polamalu hasn't been
ruled out of Sunday's game at Kansas City despite injuring his left
knee for the second time this season, though coach Mike Tomlin says
he is questionable at best. Polamalu, a five-time Pro Bowl player,
missed four games earlier this season with a medial collateral
ligament tear.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Steelers have waived backup linebacker
Arnold Harrison, the first player to lose his job after three
kickoff return touchdowns were allowed by Pittsburgh's coverage
unit in the last four games. Coach Mike Tomlin says he is analyzing
all details of the repeated breakdowns and that more changes on
special teams will occur.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies officially have
ended their relationship with Allen Iverson by waiving the 10-time
All-Star. The Grizzlies announced they had mutually agreed to end a
one-year contract with the former league MVP. Iverson began an
indefinite leave of absence on Nov. 7 to deal with a personal
issue.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State's Hall of Fame coach says
speculation about a lucrative Bowl Championship Series spot will be
moot if the No. 13 Nittany Lions' don't beat Michigan State this
weekend. Penn State is No. 14 in the BCS standings, right at the
cut-off point to qualify for an at-large berth.
