MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Jonny Flynn had a career-high 29 points and
nine assists and the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied from 20 points
down to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-103 in overtime on Monday.
Andre Iguodala had 17 points for the Sixers but missed a jumper at
the buzzer that would have given Philadelphia the win in
regulation.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Idris Hilliard scored 20 points to lead
Saint Joseph's to a 64-57 win over Towson on Monday night. Hilliard
also grabbed eight rebounds for the Hawks (6-11), who snapped a
two-game losing streak. Todd O'Brien chipped in with 11 rebounds.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia 76ers center Samuel Dalembertis going to his native Haiti with an aid group to assist with theearthquake relief effort. The 76ers released a statement Mondaynight saying Dalembert is being excused from practice today but isexpected to play in Wednesday's home game against Portland.Dalembert is the NBA's only Haitian-born player.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Flyers start a six-game homestand whenthe Columbus Blue Jackets come to Philadelphia tonight. Ray Emerywill make his second straight start in goal for Philadelphia.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - A hot New York Islanders team has its topgoaltender back in the lineup, while the Penguins may again bewithout their top two goalies when the two squads meet tonight inPittsburgh. The Islanders have won four in a row, including thelast two with Rick DiPietro in net.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach Mike Yeohas returned to practice and is expected to be behind the benchtonight against the Islanders after being hospitalized earlier thismonth with a blood-pressure problem. Yeo spent several days in ahospital following a January 2nd game in Tampa.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Right-hander Brendan Donnelly finalized a$1.35 million, one-year contract with the Pirates on Monday, givingPittsburgh another option in its veteran-thin bullpen. Pittsburghcleared a spot on its 40-man roster for Donnelly by tradinginfielder Brian Bixler to Cleveland for infielder prospect JesusBrito.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Scott Turner, a Pitt offensive assistant thelast two seasons and the son of San Diego Chargers coach NorvTurner, has been promoted to wide receivers coach. At Pitt, ScottTurner worked with each of the Panthers' two recent 1,000-yardbacks, LeSean McCoy in 2008 and Dion Lewis in 2009.
