STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State athletic director Tim Curley says budget pressures, rising costs and the need to improve facilities are some of the reasons behind a change in season ticket pricing guidelines in two years. Penn State runs 29 varsity sports.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Rose Bowl is out of reach for Penn State and Michigan State. But today's regular-season finale will have a lot to do with determining where both Big Ten teams spend their holidays.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Dany Heatley scored three times, Joe Thornton recorded his 600th NHL assist, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 on Friday night. Manny Malhotra, Ryane Clowe and Patrick Marleau also scored for the Sharks, who are 7-0-2 at home. Claude Giroux scored twice and Danny Briere added a goal for the
Flyers, who lost for the second time in nine games. Thornton, who had points on each of Heatley's goals, earned four
assists. He matched his franchise record, and has 30 points this season. Heatley notched his second hat trick of the season, and the ninth of his career. Giroux had his first career multigoal game.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - For the second consecutive week, the Eagles will go with a different look at linebacker because of a knee injury to weakside starter Akeem Jordan. Coach Andy Reid ruled out Jordan for tomorrow night's game at Chicago.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - An Eagles team spokesman says running back Brian Westbrook has begun a rehabilitation program, though the team and his doctors aren't giving more details. Westbrook during Sunday's game in San Diego suffered his second concussion in three weeks.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers safety Troy Polamalu did not practice all week because of a left knee injury and will not play tomorrow in Kansas City. He may miss the Nov. 29 game at Baltimore as well.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Federal attorneys want a judge to declare that Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Mel Blount owes more than $631,000 in back taxes, interest and penalties. The Internal Revenue Service filed a complaint in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh giving Blount 60 days to respond.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) - Jimmie Johnson will go for his fourth straight Cup title from the pole. Johnson turned a lap of 173.919 mph to win the pole at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He qualified first Friday hours after it was announced he signed a contract extension to drive for Hendrick Motorsports through the 2015 season. Scott Speed was second. Marcos Ambrose was third. Mark Martin and Tony Stewart round out the top five. Johnson goes into Sunday's finale with a 108-point lead over Martin and needs only to finish 25th or better to win the title.
