PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Veteran pitcher Jose Contreras has finalizeda $1.5 million, one-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.The 38-year-old right-hander went a combined 6-13 with a 4.92 ERAin 28 games last year with the Chicago White Sox and ColoradoRockies. Contreras started 23 games, but will be used mainly as areliever in Philadelphia.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Right-hander Tyler Walker agreed to a one-yearcontract with the Washington Nationals. The 33-year-old Walker went2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 32 appearances with the NL championPhiladelphia Phillies last season.
