PITTSBURGH (AP) - The first meeting between the Penguins and theDetroit Red Wings since last year's Stanley Cup finals goes toPittsburgh 2-1 in a shootout. Sidney Crosby scored in regulation aswell as in the shootout. Daniel Cleary scored Detroit's only goalmidway through the third period. Marc-Andre Fleury had 23 saves forthe Penguins.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Penguins are back in action tonightagainst the Buffalo Sabres in a meeting between two of the top fourteams in the NHL's Eastern Conference. Pittsburgh will be trying toavoid a letdown after yesterday's 2-1 shootout win over Detroit.The Sabres are trying to end a four-game road skid.

CALGARY (AP) - After snapping a two-game losing streak with a2-1 win over the New York Islanders Saturday, the PhiladelphiaFlyers will be back on the ice at Calgary tonight. The Flames arein third place in the Northwest Division with 62 points.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Andre Iguodala scored 14 points,including seven in a key portion of the third quarter, leading the76ers to an 83-79 victory over the hapless New Jersey Nets. Lastnight's victory snapped Philadelphia's three-game losing streak,while the 4-42 Nets kept pace with the 1972-73 Sixers for the worstrecord in NBA history.

MIAMI (AP) - Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jacksoncaught two touchdown passes - one from his teammate Donovan McNabb- in last night's Pro Bowl game in Miami. The AFC beat the NFC41-34. Jackson scored on a 7-yard pass from Green Bay's AaronRodgers and on a 58-yard pass from McNabb.

MIAMI (AP) - Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins hasbeen named to the NFL's All-Decade team. Dawkins played for theEagles from 1996 to 2008 before signing this past season as a freeagent with the Denver Broncos.

MIAMI (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has beennamed to the NFL's All-Decade team. Former Steelers guard AlanFaneca, who now plays for the New York Jets, also made the squad.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Dominique Jones scored 37 points and SouthFlorida extended its school-best Big East winning streak to threestraight games with a 70-61 upset of No. 17 Pittsburgh. GilbertBrown scored a career-high 25 for the Panthers, who have droppedthree of their last four conference games.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Robbie Hummel scored 23 points as10th-ranked Purdue rolled to a 66-46 win over Penn State. TalorBattle scored 13 points and David Jackson had 11 for the NittanyLions, who remain winless in Big Ten play.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Duquesne held on for a 74-71 win over SaintJoseph's in Atlantic-10 play. Saint Joseph's had a chance to takethe lead but turned the ball over with 7.6 seconds to play. CarlJones then missed a desperation 3-pointer just before the finalhorn. Melquan Bolding led the Dukes with 24 points.

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Gabe Knutson scored 31 points as Lehighdefeated Holy Cross 78-60. The Mountain Hawks scored 25 points off17 Holy Cross turnovers. C.J. McCollum finished with 17 points andDave Buchberger chipped in 11 for Duquesne.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - David Schneider scored 13 points,including two free throws with 9 seconds left to help preserveWilliam & Mary's 54-51 victory over Drexel. Schneider was 1-for-8from the field, but hit 11 of his 13 free throw attempts as theTribe snapped a three-game losing streak.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Veronica Hicks and Carmen Reynolds eachscored 18 points to help Michigan upset No. 23 Penn State 66-62.Tyra Grant had 19 points for the Lady Lions, who dropped theirsecond straight and most likely will fall out of the Top 25 a weekafter entering it.
