PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Flyers head into the
All-Star break leading the league in wins after a 5-2 victory over
the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. The Flyers' 10-2-0 record
in January has catapulted them to an NHL-best 33 victories. A year
ago, the Flyers clinched a playoff spot in the last game of the
season.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Coach Mike Tomlin still is only 38 years old,
still hasn't played a down of NFL football, and still has only one
year as a coordinator on his resume. But after his Pittsburgh
Steelers secured their second Super Bowl appearance in his four
seasons as coach, he's gained the respect of his players, past and
present.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung
is siding with some old friends in the Super Bowl. The former Green
Bay Packers running back says his old team will beat the Pittsburgh
Steelers by a field goal on February 6. Hornung says the Packers
could be on the verge of a dynasty similar to the one he helped the
team build in the 1960s.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Linebacker Nick Barnett and tight end
Jermichael Finley won't play for the Green Bay Packers in the Super
Bowl, and there's something else they won't share with the team.
Both posted complaints on Twitter Tuesday after learning players on
injured reserve will not be in the team photo. Barnett called it
"sad," and Finley said it was "not cool."

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick has signed his first
endorsement contract since his release from prison. The Eagles' Pro
Bowl quarterback inked a two-year contract with Unequal
Technologies, a provider of football pads. Vick endorsed many
products during his six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, but lost
everything following his 2007 arrest on dogfighting charges.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A charter plane carrying the University of
Massachusetts men's basketball team made an emergency landing at
the Albany International Airport when smoke was detected in the
cockpit. They were on their way to Pennsylvania for a game tonight
against St. Bonaventure. The Albany Times-Union reports the plane
landed safely Tuesday.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Barely two years into Cael Sanderson's
tenure as coach, Penn State now has the No. 1 wrestling team in the
country. The Nittany Lions are off to their best start in program
history at 13-0. They claimed the top spot in the USA Today/NWCA
Coaches Poll released Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Goalkeeper Brad Knighton has been waived by
Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union. The 25-year-old made his
MLS debut last August 8 against Dallas and was ejected after 21
minutes. He started eight games for Philadelphia last season.
