WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Tuesday

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Boston beat the Sidney Crosby-less Penguins
4-2 on Monday night. The comeback win, the second victory by Boston
in six games, came after they squandered a 2-0 lead with 2 1/2 minutes
left Saturday and lost 3-2 in overtime to Montreal. Pittsburgh is
0-2-1 without Crosby, who is out with a concussion.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick turned a season that began with
low expectations into one filled with highlights and high hopes.
Vick led the Eagles to an NFC East title, but a 21-16 loss to Green
Bay in a wild-card game on Sunday spoiled his remarkable comeback
story. No Super Bowl victory for the Eagles, who haven't won a
championship since 1960.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Philadelphia coach Andy Reid says he has not
received paperwork from Cleveland to interview Eagles offensive
coordinator Marty Mornhinweg for their coaching job. Mornhinweg is
believed to be on Browns president Mike Holmgren's list of
potential replacements for Eric Mangini, fired last week.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Once again, two games in a season weren't
enough for the Ravens and Steelers, division opponents who can't
stand each other. For the second time in three seasons, they'll
meet in the playoffs - their eighth game in the last three seasons
alone. And it will be in Pittsburgh, where the Ravens have never
won in the postseason.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Todd Graham has agreed to leave Tulsa and
become Pitt's third football coach in a month, a move designed to
quickly bring stability to a program rocked by former coach Mike
Haywood's arrest last month. Tulsa's players held an 8 p.m. EST
team meeting Monday at which Graham announced the move. Pitt made
the hiring official shortly after that.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh running back Dion Lewis, wide
receiver Jon Baldwin and fullback Henry Hynoski have declared for
the NFL draft. The departures are a setback for a program that had
a disappointing 8-5 record this season and is about to hire its
third coach in a month, following the ouster of Dave Wannstedt and
the firing of Mike Haywood.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Former AFL star fullback Cookie Gilchrist
has died of cancer at 75. Nephew Thomas Gilchrist says his uncle
died Monday at an assisted living facility near Pittsburgh.
Gilchrist was a 251-pound bruising runner in the 1960s in the
American Football League. He spent six years in the Canadian
Football League before joining the Buffalo Bills of the AFL in
1962.
