WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles
have agreed on a six-year deal. The Eagles made the announcement
last night. A source familiar with the negotiations tells The
Associated Press the deal is worth $100 million, including about
$40 million guaranteed. The person spoke to the AP on condition of
anonymity because terms weren't released.

CINCINNATI (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cincinnati
Reds 3-2 last night. Shane Victorino hit a tiebreaking, two-run
homer in the eighth inning and Cole Hamels was solid in his return
from the disabled list leading the Phils to victory.

HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Astros rallied past the Pittsburgh
Pirates 7-4 last night. Carlos Lee hit a tiebreaking three-run
homer in the seventh inning and Wandy Rodriguez struck out a
career-high 13 to lead the Astros to victory.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh quarterbacks Charlie Batch and
Dennis Dixon are battling for the Number 2 spot. The Steelers lost
top reserve Byron Leftwich indefinitely when he broke his left arm
in the 34-16 win over Atlanta Saturday. The injury means both Batch
and Dixon won't have to worry about one of them losing their job.
Now, they just have to see who will be Big Ben's backup.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pitt linebacker Brandon Lindsey has big shoes
to fill. His father, John, played basketball at Memphis while his
older brother, Willie, was a defensive back at Northwestern. While
Lindsey was considered a breakout star a year ago for the Panthers,
the senior figures he was just trying to keep up the family name.
If he's going to match those numbers this year, he'll have to do it
at linebacker.

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) - For the first time in her career,
3-year-old filly See You At Peelers was not in the winner's circle.
The harness racing star's 22-race winning streak ended with a
disappointing sixth-place finish in the Nadia Lobell Stakes at The
Meadows yesterday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Little League World Series champions have
returned home to Southern California after their big win over
Japan. The Ocean View Little League team arrived at Los Angeles
International Airport last night after their 2-1 win Sunday in
Pennsylvania. They immediately headed to the Little League fields
in Huntington Beach for a homecoming celebration with league
members, family and fans.
