ST. LOUIS (AP) - David Freese homered, doubled and drove in four
runs as the St. Louis Cardinals tagged playoff nemesis Roy Oswalt
and beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 last night, forcing a
deciding fifth game in their NL division series. Roy Halladay, the
Game 1 winner, will face St. Louis ace Chris Carpenter tomorrow
night in Philadelphia.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A squirrel ran across home plate in the fifth
inning of the NL division series game between the Phillies and
Cardinals last night. The squirrel darted across the plate shortly
after Roy Oswalt delivered a pitch. Plate umpire Angel Hernandez
called it a ball, and Oswalt and manager Charlie Manuel argued.
Skip Schumaker flied out to center on the next pitch. This was the
third time one of the rodents was spotted at Busch Stadium.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick says it's time for the Eagles
to move past the 'Dream Team' label and focus on being themselves.
The defending NFC East champions are 1-3 in a season that began
with Super Bowl aspirations. The Eagles head to Buffalo on Sunday.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed veteran
tackle Max Starks to a one-year deal to give the team's battered
offensive line some much-needed depth. The Steelers cut the
seven-year veteran in the preseason in a salary cap move. Starks
started 68 games with the Steelers between 2004-10 but missed the
second half of the 2010 season with a neck injury.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Pittsburgh Penguins captain
Sidney Crosby skated with the team yesterday, but still doesn't
know when he will be able to play in a game. The star center has
been sidelined since January 5th because of post-concussion
symptoms.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - New transfers are settling in at Penn
State, while school administrators are putting the finishing
touches on plans for the on-campus ice arena. The Nittany Lions are
right on schedule a year out from moving up to Division I status,
and two years away from the start of the anticipated Big Ten hockey
conference.
