LOS ANGELES (AP) - Major League baseball has been rocked by the
50-game suspension given to the Dodgers' Manny Ramirez for testing
positive for a banned substance. The suspension will cost Ramirez
about $7.65 million before he can return to the team on July 3.

CHICAGO (AP) - Mark Buehrle (BUR'-lee) took a perfect game into
the seventh inning and improved to 5-and-0 as the White Sox beat
Detroit 6-0. Placido Polanco's one-out double in the seventh was
the only hit Buerle surrendered in eight innings.

NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Yankees will get Alex Rodriguez in
the line-up for the first time this season when they play in
Baltimore tonight. The All-Star third baseman has been sidelined
since surgery to repair torn cartilage in his hip on March 9.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Marian Hossa scored the go-ahead goal and
another three minutes later during the second period to help
Detroit beat Anaheim 6-3 in their NHL playoff series. Johan Franzen
also scored twice for the Red Wings, who evened the series at two
games each.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Ben Crane has a one-shot lead
after a 7-under 65 in the first round of the The Players
