WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Tuesday

DENVER (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies rallied past the
Colorado Rockies 5-4 last night to reach the NL championship
series. Ryan Howard hit a two-run double in the ninth inning and
scored on Jayson Werth's single. Brad Lidge earned his second
straight save, once again retiring cleanup man Troy Tulowitzki. The
Phils play the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia is showing brotherly love for
its baseball team following the victory over the Colorado Rockies.
Fans who gathered in taverns for last night's game saw the Rockies
take a lead late in the game. But they were jubilant as the
Phillies made a comeback.

OTTAWA (AP) - Tyler Kennedy scored twice and Marc-Andre Fleury
made 30 saves, leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-1 win over
the Ottawa Senators last night. Bill Guerin and Jordan Staal also
scored for the Penguins, who won their third in a row, to remain
undefeated on the road.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick has this handing-off thing
down. He's waiting to do more. Two games into his return to the
NFL, Vick hasn't been a factor for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Clearly, the Eagles brought Vick in to do more. But the Eagles are
in no rush to show opposing defenses too much when they routed
Kansas City and beat Tampa Bay this past Sunday.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The South Florida at Pittsburgh game will
start at noon ET on Saturday, Oct. 24 and will be televised
regionally by ESPN. The game will be the first of two played at
Heinz Field in a 28-hour hour period, with the Vikings and Steelers
meeting the following day.
