OTTAWA (AP) - Brian Elliott earned his second shutout in twodays and Chris Kelly and Daniel Alfredsson scored to lead theOttawa Senators to a 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers lastnight. Elliott stopped 26 shots. It was his fifth shutout of theseason.

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Ryan Howard hit two solo homers in thePhiladelphia Phillies' 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday.Shane Victorino also connected for the Phillies, and BrianSchneider had a game-ending sacrifice fly. Joe Blanton pitched 51-3 innings for the Phillies, yielding two runs and four hits. EvanLongoria had a two-run double for the Rays.

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - Felipe Paulino gave up one run and sevenhits in five innings as the Houston Astros beat the PittsburghPirates 11-1 yesterday. Paulino struck out six and walked just one.In his worst outing of the spring, Pirates starter Ross Ohlendorflabored through 3 2-3 innings. He allowed seven runs and nine hits.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Maya Moore scored 19 points and Number 1Connecticut beat Temple 90-36 in the second round of the NCAAwomen's tournament last night. The win was the 74th in a row forthe Huskies, the longest streak in NCAA Division I women's history.Qweida Wallace led the Temple with 12 points.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A spokesman for the New Orleans Saints saysthe team won't match Philadelphia's one-year offer to restrictedfree-agent running back Mike Bell. The Eagles will not owe NewOrleans any compensation for Bell, who had 654 yards rushing andfive touchdowns last season. He averaged 3.8 yards per carry.

ATLANTA (AP) - An attorney for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbackBen Roethlisberger says Georgia police have withdrawn a request fora DNA sample from the player, who is accused of sexually assaultinga woman at a nightclub. Ed Garland says officials withdrew therequest a week ago.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin sayshe talks to Ben Roethlisberger daily while the star quarterback isbeing investigated for an alleged sexual assault. NFL commissionerRoger Goodell has said he will meet with Roethlisberger, and Tomlinsays Goodell "is well within his right" to do so. Roethlisbergerhasn't been charged.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - La Salle University has hired formerPittsburgh associate coach Jeff Williams as the school's new headwomen's basketball coach. Williams, who spent the past sevenseasons at Pitt and the past four as associate head coach, helpedthe Panthers to postseason appearances in the past five seasons,including three straight trips to the NCAA tournament.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jay Wright hears his name in coaching rumorsthis time of year about as routinely as he leads Villanova to theNCAA tournament. Wright's message Tuesday was the same as yearspast: He wants to end his career with the Wildcats. Wright led theWildcats to a 25-8 record this season a year after they went to theFinal Four.
