WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Dwight Howard returned from suspension to
score 19 points, grab 13 rebounds and lead the Magic to a 95-85 win
over the 76ers last night. Howard served an NBA suspension Sunday
after picking up his 18th technical foul. Elton Brand led the
Sixers with 22 points. Philadelphia is stuck on 41 wins and needs
one in tomorrow's finale for its first winning record since
2004-05.

CHOUDRANT, La. (AP) - Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw
says he's feeling the effects of numerous concussions sustained
during his NFL career. The 62-year-old Steelers legend says he's
been having short-term memory loss as well as loss of hand-eye
coordination. He also says he is undergoing rehabilitation for
those ailments.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The question that everyone wants to know as
the Penguins prepare to take on the Lightning in the first round of
the Stanley Cup playoffs is whether injured captain Sidney Crosby
return to the ice. Considering he still hasn't been cleared for
contact, it would seem unlikely that Crosby, who missed 41 games
with a concussion, will play. But the Lightning are preparing for
him, one way or the other.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The Buffalo Sabres enter the NHL postseason
with some lingering injury issues as they prepare to take on the
Flyers. The injury bug didn't slow Buffalo down as they ended the
regular season. They finished their campaign with only one
regulation loss in their last 13 games.

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Villanova University will not take a vote
scheduled for this week that would decide if the football program
would move to the Big East Conference. The university has released
a statement that says the Big East needs more time to do its due
diligence regarding Villanova's potential football membership.

NEW YORK (AP) - Phillies minor league left-hander Ryan Sasaki
has been suspended for 50 games following a positive drug test
under baseball's minor league drug program. The commissioner's
office says Sasaki had an elevated testosterone/epitestosterone
ratio. Sasaki is on the roster of the Gulf Coast League Phillies.
