EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Vince Young threw a go-ahead 8-yard touchdown pass to Riley Cooper with 2:45 to play and the undermanned Philadelphia Eagles finally got things right in the fourth quarter, posting a 17-10 victory over the New York Giants. In what was a must-win game for Andy Reid's struggling team, the Eagles marched 80 yards in 18 plays over 8:51.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby will make his season debut today against the New York Islanders. It will be his first game in nearly a year since being sidelined with concussion-like symptoms. Crosby hasn't played since taking head shots in consecutive games in January against Washington and Tampa Bay.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Tim Frazier accounted for more than half of Penn State's offense yesterday, scoring 27 points as the Nittany Lions overcame a sluggish first half to beat South Florida 53-49 in the Hall of Fame Tip-off tournament. Jermaine Marshall added 11 points for Penn State, which had been blown out by Kentucky, 85-47, in the opening game of the tournament on Saturday.

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Kevin Van Wijk scored 22 points and Ryan Broekhoff 21 to pace hot-shooting Valparaiso to its fifth straight victory, an 84-68 decision over Duquesne yesterday in the 2K Sports Classic. Jay Harris made 5 of 6 shots, including all three 3-pointers, and added 17 points for the Crusaders, who converted 28 of 48 shots.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Langston Galloway had 23 points while Carl Jones had eight of his 19 points in the final three minutes as Saint Joseph's took third place at the Charleston Classic with a 79-75 victory over Tulsa last night. Jones set a tournament record with 38 points in Friday's 78-70 loss to Seton Hall, but had only six points in the opening half as Tulsa's taller guards denied him the ball. Jones found his game in the second half.

SAN JUAN, P.R. (AP) — Ramone Moore scored 23 points as Temple beat Wichita State 78-74 in overtime yesterday in the third-place game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off tournament. Juan Fernandez added 15 points, including the tying 3-pointer in the final minute of regulation, for the Owls.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say two men who ran in the Philadelphia Marathon collapsed during the race and died of apparent heart attacks. Philadelphia police say a 21-year-old man collapsed at the finish line. They say a 40-year-old man collapsed about a quarter-mile before the finish line.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State University police say they've referred another previous incident of indecent assault to the Attorney General's Office. The Centre Daily Times reports chief Tyrone Parham says the assault "by a known individual" took place in an outdoor swimming pool building sometime between June 1st, 2000 and August 30th, 2000. The paper reports Parham couldn't say if the "known individual" is Jerry Sandusky.
