CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Duqesne helped shake up the top of theAtlantic 10 standings by knocking off Charlotte 83-77 last night.B.J. Monteiro had 19 points and Bill Clark added 18 to lead theDukes. The loss dropped Charlotte into fourth place in theconference with an 8-3 record.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Penn State's 12-game losing streak isover. David Jackson and Chris Babb each scored 20 points as theNittany Lions beat Northwestern 81-70. It was Penn State's firstBig Ten with this season and Northwestern's loss may have ended theWildcats' hopes for a first-ever NCAA tournament bid.

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Philadelphia Phillies closer Brad Lidgeis hoping to put a disappointing 2009 season behind him. A yearafter converting all 48 save chances, Lidge led the majors with 11blown saves last season. He had off-season surgeries on his rightelbow and right knee and the 33-year-old says he's pain freeentering spring training.

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Cliff Lee has a new spring training addressin Arizona, but it likely will be another week or more before hecan pitch for the Seattle Mariners. Acquired from Philadelphia inthe biggest trade of the offseason, the 31-year-old left-hander hasa bandage around his left foot following surgery to remove a bonespur.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Arena Football League, reborn under newleadership after folding last year, is already looking to expandinto the Philadelphia, Southern California, Denver and Pittsburghmarkets. Commissioner Jerry Kurz says the league has had seriousnegotiations to place teams in those markets beginning with the2011 season.
