BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - The Pirates' new batting order paid offbig time in a 13-1 romp over the Astros yesterday in springtraining action. Pirates manager John Russell is planning to beginthe season with his pitcher hitting eighth. The move shifts AndrewMcCutchen from leadoff to second in the batting order.
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker SantonioHolmes is being sued by a Florida woman who says he attacked her inan Orlando nightclub. The woman claims Holmes grabbed her in theface and threw a glass that hit her near the eye. A Steelersspokesman said the team had no immediate comment.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn'tshow up to the team's offseason work out and the team says itdoesn't expect him there. The Steelers believe the quarterback'spresence would be a distraction to the team. Roethlisberger isaccused of assaulting a female college student in Georgia.

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Phillies left hander J.C. Romero hasseen his first action of the spring. The reliever appeared in aminor league intrasquad game. He faced four batters and struck outtwo of them without allowing a runner. Romero had elbow surgery inOctober. He hopes to join the big league squad by the home openeron April 12th.
BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - The Pirates have taken former startingright fielder Brandon Moss off their 40-man roster. The move meansthey now have 10 days to trade, release or waive him. Moss has hitjust .081 this spring and lost the spare outfielder's job to JohnRaynor. He's been replaced on the roster by right-hander HaydenPenn, who's been claimed on waivers from the Florida Marlins.
