PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have beaten the Toronto Blue Jays 9-0 in a road game at their own ballpark. Roy Halladay tossed seven scoreless innings Friday in his first start against his former team after the series was moved from Toronto to Philadelphia because of the G20 Summit.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The Oakland Athletics have beaten the Pittsburgh Pirates 14-4. Neil Walker homered and had a career-high three hits for the Pirates in last night's game in Oakland.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have chosen right wing Beau Bennett with the 20th overall pick in the NHL draft. The Penguins were believed to be interested in moving up in the first round yesterday but didn't make a trade.

CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - The Philadelphia Union are debuting their $122 million, 18,500-seat stadium around 10 miles south of the city tomorrow night. But the opening is being tempered by an outburst of violence in Chester, where a state of emergency has been declared after four shooting deaths in an eight-day span.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A planned hockey arena for the Philadelphia Flyers' minor league affiliate in Allentown is running behind its scheduled October 2012 opening. Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski says developers are struggling get financing, and the arena on the Lehigh River isn't expected to open until at least 2013.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia 76ers introduced draft pick Evan Turner yesterday. The Ohio State standout said he'll need to be more consistent with the his long-range shooting, and is eager to join fellow guard Jrue Holiday in the backcourt for the Sixers in the summer league.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pitt men's basketball team is headed the Ireland this summer. They'll play six games starting July 31 and will meet with U.S. ambassador Dan Rooney, the Steelers' chairman emeritus. Opponents include the Melbourne Tigers of Australia, the English and Irish national teams and the Dart Kilester club team.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - An attorney for Michael Vick says the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback wasn't present when a shooting took place outside a Virginia nightclub where he had celebrated his birthday. Virginia Beach Police say a man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting outside the club Guadalajara early this morning.
