PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Denver Nuggets beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-104 in overtime last night. Andre Miller scored a season-high 28 points off the bench and Nene had 20 points and 14 rebounds. The Atlantic Division-leading Sixers lost for the first time at home. They had won nine of 10 overall and were 6-0 at the Wells Fargo Center.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State's board of trustees will meet tomorrow amid growing criticism over the firing of coach Joe Paterno. It's the board's first meeting since November when child sex abuse charges were filed against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Now, some alumni and former players are wondering whether the trustees have been up front with them.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson scored 19 points and Ramone Moore had 17 as Temple defeated La Salle 76-70 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game last night. The Owls led by as many as 10 points in the second half, but the Explorers cut it to one point four times, the last at 68-67 with 3:25 remaining.

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) — JayVaughn Pinkston had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Maalik Wayns scored 25 points to lead Villanova to an 84-76 win over Seton Hall last night. James Bell scored 18 to help the Wildcats win for just the second time in seven games.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Mark Lyons scored 17 points last night, and point guard Tu Holloway had a season-high 12 assists in a spread-it-around offense that swept Xavier to its fourth straight victory, 68-55 over Saint Joseph's. Halil Kanacevic led Saint Joseph's with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Duquesne forced 29 turnovers in an 80-69 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Massachusetts last night. B.J. Monteiro scored 23 points and Sean Johnson added 20 points and 10 rebounds. T.J. McConnell added 15 points, six assists and had four steals for the Dukes.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — Mike Muscala scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Bucknell over Lehigh 68-61 last night. Muscala was 7 of 18 from the field in the battle of the past two Patriot League champions. It was also a meeting of the last two Patriot League Players of the year. Muscala won it last year, while Lehigh's C.J. McCollum grabbed the honors the year before.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia judge has upped the bail for a New Jersey man charged with brutally assaulting an off-duty police officer and Iraq war veteran in a fight between Flyers and Rangers fans following the NHL Winter Classic. Dennis Veteri was held on $400,000 bail after yesterday's hearing. Veteri was arrested last week in connection with the fight outside a popular cheesesteak shop.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl is donating $1,400 he raised by selling his Tim Tebow jersey on eBay to the Pittsburgh Promise. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports the mayor founded the scholarship program which provides college tuition assistance to graduates of Pittsburgh Public Schools who maintain certain minimum grade-point averages.
