WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Wednesday

ATLANTA (AP) - Martin Prado hit a game-ending RBI single in the
10th inning and the Atlanta Braves beat Philadelphia 5-4 last
night. It was Atlanta's first home win over the Phillies since
2007. Atlanta went 0-9 against the Phillies at Turner Field last
year. The Phillies and Braves continue their series tonight in
Atlanta.

ATLANTA (AP) - Jimmy Rollins is back in Philadelphia's lineup
after sitting out four straight games. Rollins, hitting .211 after
an 0-for-19 slump, returned as the Phillies' shortstop and leadoff
hitter for last night's game against Atlanta. Phillies manager
Charlie Manuel said he hopes Rollins will "play the way he always
has, like he has fun."

ATLANTA (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies have placed left-hander
Antonio Bastardo on the 15-day disabled list with a strained
shoulder. The team recalled another left-hander, Sergio Escalona,
from Triple-A Lehigh Valley before last night's game in Atlanta.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ross Ohlendorf pitched seven innings and
helped Pittsburgh beat the Chicago Cubs 3-0 last night. The Pirates
beat the Cubs for only the sixth time in their last 26 games in
Pittsburgh. The Cubs finished a forgettable June in which they went
11-14, their first losing month since August 2007. The Pirates and
Cubs battle it out again tonight.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - In soccer, The Harrisburg City
Islanders came from behind to upset the New England Revolution 2-1
in overtime in a third-round match last night in the Lamar Hunt
U.S. Open Cup. New England played with mostly reserves because
several starters were out with injuries.
