Here is the latest Pennsylvania sports from The AP
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jimmy Rollins homered in the seventh inning
to help the Philadelphia Phillies beat Boston 11-6 yesterday,
avoiding a Red Sox sweep. Chan Ho Park earned the win in relief.
Following that weekend series, the Phillies are off today.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pitcher Dontrelle Willis had control problems
for the third consecutive start leading to all of Pittsburgh's
scoring. The Pirates beat the Tigers 6-3 yesterday. Willis left
after throwing only 43 of 88 pitches for strikes, giving up six
hits and six runs and striking out one. The Pirates are idle today.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Pirates organization took time
at yesterday's baseball game to celebrate the accomplishments of
the Stanley Cup Champion Penguins. Today the city of Pittsburgh
will host a victory parade for the champions. It comes only 4 1/2
months after the Steelers' Super Bowl celebration.
UNDATED (AP) - Muhammad Ali was at Joe Louis Arena, perhaps
waiting for a fight to break out. One did in Game 7 of the NHL
championships, but not in the traditional hockey sense. The two
heavyweights on Friday night were the Pittsburgh Penguins and
Detroit Red Wings.
