Tony Stewart won the Pocono 500 - becoming the first owner/driver to visit victory lane since 1998 when Ricky Rudd captured the checkers in Martinsville. Stewart credits his crew for helping him get past Carl Edwards on the final pitstop.

Stewart :14 "the same thing."

Stewart crossed the finish line 2 seconds ahead of Edwards. David Reutimann ran third, followed by Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Los
Angeles Dodgers 7-2 to split a four-game series between teams with
the top two records in baseball. Ryan Howard, Carlos Ruiz and Shane
Victorino homered. The defending World Series champions maintained
their three-game lead over the New York Mets in the NL East.

HOUSTON (AP) - The Pittsburgh Pirates outpaced the Houston
Astros 6-4 at Minutemaid Park yesterday.Jack Wilson doubled twice
and drove in a run and Andrew McCutchen delivered a big two-run
single for the Pirates, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

DETROIT (AP) - Mike Babcock's teams have won in the Stanley Cup
Finals three times in his six seasons behind an NHL bench. Babcock
helped the Red Wings hoist the Cup last year against Pittsburgh.
Babcock hopes to win another title, ideally Tuesday night in Game 6
at Pittsburgh. That's even though it will be at the expense of one
of his former players and assistants, Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Pro cycling's strongest team dominated again
by finishing 1-2 in the 25th annual men's Philadelphia
International Championship yesterday. Team Columbia-Highroad
teammates Andre Greipel (GRY'-puhl) and Greg Henderson completed
the 156-mile course in 6 hours, 24 minutes and 4 seconds.

LONG POND, Pa. (AP) - Tony Stewart has won his first Cup points
race as a team owner. He came coming from the rear of the field to
win at Pocono Raceway. Stewart is the first owner/driver to win a
points race since Ricky Rudd at Martinsville in 1998.
