Jeff Gordon will start second in Sunday's 500-mile race, followed by Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman. Stewart hopes to build on what so far has been a banner year inhis first season as an owner and driver. A second-place finish lastweek at Dover catapulted the Stewart Haas Racing driver to the topof the Sprint Cup standings. He is the first driver/owner to lead in points since AlanKulwicki won the 1992 Cup championship. Stewart has a first-placefinish at Pocono in 2003, and was runner-up last year.

He also pitched seven innings in Houston's 2-1 win at PNC Park on Sunday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies' seven-game winning streak ended with a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers last night.
