PITTSBURGH (AP) - Ronny Cedeno's bases loaded single in the 10th gave Pittsburgh a 4-3 win over the Dodgers at PNC Park last night. Until that run, the Pirates hadn't scored since Garrett Jones' three-run homer in the first. The win is the Bucs second in a row over last year's NL West champs.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Joe Torre plans to rest some of his Dodger stars when the Los Angeles finishes up its season opening series in Pittsburgh today. Left fielder Manny Ramierez and possibly third baseman Casey Blake are expected to get the afternoon off.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Ryan Howard powered the Phillies to an 8-4 win in Washington last night with a two-run homer and an RBI double. Philadelphia starter Cole Hamels labored through five innings in his first outing of the year. This marks the Phils' first 2-0 start
on the season since 2003.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Phillies have looked to the waiver wire to boost their injury-ravaged bullpen. Philadelphia has claimed Nelson Figueroa off waivers from the Mets. Figueroa was 3-8 with a 4.09 ERA in 16 games with New York last year.

MIAMI (AP) - Dwayne Wade dropped in eight of his 22 points in the final four minutes of the Heat's 99-95 win over the 76ers last night. The win is Miami's ninth straight. Samuel Dalembert had 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Sixers.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Georgia police have wrapped up their investigation into a college student's claim that she was sexually assaulted by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. An
investigation report and witness statements in the case have been turned over to local prosecutors.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Steelers are meeting with some high-profile stars from the college ranks ahead of next week's NFL draft. Wide receivers Golden Tate of Notre Dame and Dez Bryant of Oklahoma State were in Pittsburgh yesterday. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports troubled Oregon running back LaGarrette Blount also met with the team.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Eagles have re-signed offensive lineman Nick Cole to a one-year deal. Cole had been a restricted free agent. Cole went undrafted coming out of college in 2006. Since then he's started 26 games for the birds at both guard and center.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh is saying goodbye to the arena affectionately known as the "Igloo." The Penguins play their final game at 49-year-old Mellon Arena tonight. More than 50 former Penguins players will be on-hand for the farewell festivities, including Andy Bathgate, who scored the franchise's first goal in 1967.
