PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Forty-seven-year-old Jamie Moyer threw a two-hitter as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves 7-0. Moyer struck out five and faced one batter over the minimum to earn his 262nd career victory. Jayson Werth hit a three-run homer. The Phillies have won four in a row and six of seven.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Yadier Molina doubled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning with his fourth hit, and the St. Louis Cardinals took advantage of several Pittsburgh defensive lapses and a key baserunning mistake to beat the Pirates 4-3. Ryan Franklin got the final four outs for the victory despite throwing a tying wild pitch
in a wild eighth inning.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Simon Gagne made a timely return to the lineup, scoring in overtime to help the Philadelphia Flyers hold off elimination by beating the Boston Bruins 5-4 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Gagne played for the first time since he broke his right toe in Game 4 of Philadelphia's opening-round series against New Jersey.

MONTREAL (AP) - The Pittsburgh Penguins' series with the Montreal Canadiens is now a best of three series. They'll meet tonight at Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Habs rallied from a one-goal deficit Thursday night for a 3-2 win that evened the series at two games apiece.

PENN STATE SPORTS NEWS
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Penn State's men's volleyball team faces top-ranked Stanford for the NCAA championship Saturday. The Nittany Lions advanced to the final Thursday with a 3-0 win over Cal State Northridge. Stanford advanced with a win over Ohio State.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and Pitt counterpart Dave Wannstedt are lending support for a high school spring football practice period in Pennsylvania. They met this week with members of a state high school football coaches association. But a PIAA official says she doesn't see spring practice being approved because it would conflict with other spring sports.
DAD VAIL REGATTA
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The 72nd Dad Vail Regatta is under way in Philadelphia, months after organizers had threatened to move it to northern New Jersey. The long-running intercollegiate rowing event started yesterday on the Schuylkill River, and runs through today.
