WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Monday

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves to help the
Canadiens shut down the Penguins 3-1 in Pittsburgh. Mike Cammalleri
scored two goals for the Habs and Brian Gionta added another. The
best-of-seven series is now tied at a game apiece. Game 3 is
tomorrow night in Montreal.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Andre Ethier homered twice and drove in four
runs to lead the Dodgers to a 9-3 rout of the Pirates yesterday.
Pittsburgh starter Jeff Karstens gave up six runs and 11 hits over
five innings in his second start of the season after being recalled
from Triple-A Indianapolis.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Pirates first baseman Garrett Jones was back
in the lineup yesterday, a day after checking himself into a
hospital because of a blockage of food in his esophagus. Jones was
anesthetized during a half-hour procedure to remove a piece of beef
that he says was blocking "right where the esophagus connects to
the stomach."

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Phillies roughed up Mets ace Johan
Santana to the tune of 11 runs in an 11-5 victory over New York.
Most of the damage came in the nine-run fourth inning, when Shane
Victorino had a grand slam and Chase Utley added a two-run shot.
Santana gave up 10 runs in 3-plus innings during the worst outing
of his career.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins still feels
tightness in his strained right calf and says it could be the end
of the month before he returns to the lineup. Rollins has been on
the disabled list since mid-April and says he'd like to be back in
two weeks.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Joe Blanton will make his first start of the
season for the Phillies against St. Louis tonight. Blanton has been
on the disabled list while recovering from an oblique strain in
spring training.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Former NBA coach Doug Collins has been
interviewed by the Philadelphia 76ers for their head coaching job.
The Sixers said that Collins met Saturday with general manager Ed
Stefanski and other members of the organization in Arizona. The
Sixers are set to interview former Dallas coach Avery Johnson on
Monday.

BOSTON (AP) - Marco Sturm will miss the rest of the Boston
Bruins season with a right knee injury. Sturm hurt his knee on the
first shift of Boston's 5-4 overtime victory over the Flyers in
Saturday's opener of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference
semifinal. Game 2 is tonight in Boston.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed has hurt
his left Achilles tendon during the final day of a three-day
minicamp, and coach Mike Tomlin says the injury could be serious.
Sweed was hurt during a routine passing drill yesterday and was
taken off the field on a cart. Sweed will likely miss the season if
the Achilles is ruptured.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A suspected explosive device near the finish
line of the Pittsburgh Marathon prompted police to halt yesterday's
race briefly. A bomb squad used a robot to disable the device.
Investigators don't believe it was an actual explosive.
