ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh
Pirates are still off for the All-Star break. The major league
baseball action last night was in the Home Run Derby. Ryan Howard
of the Phillies and Albert Pujols (POO'-hohls) of the St. Louis
Cardinals were both knocked out of the Home Run Derby by Prince
Fielder of Milwaukee who won the event.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Pittsburgh Pirates farmhand and reality
show contestant Rinku Singh earned his first win yesterday in the
second game of a Gulf Coast League doubleheader. He struck out the
only batter he faced in the Bradenton Pirates' 10-5 victory. Singh
is believed to be the first India-born player to win a pro baseball
game in the United States.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) - Chiba City, Japan is the latest
entry into this year's Little League World Series. The Japanese
team earned a trip to South Williamsport after winning its national
tournament on Sunday. The 10-day tournament begins Aug. 21, with
eight international teams and eight U.S. teams vying for the
biggest prize in youth baseball.
