WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Friday

HOUSTON (AP) - The Astros have swept the Pirates out of Houston
with a 2-0 win yesterday. Roy Oswalt allowed only a first-inning
single to Neil Walker in his seventh career shutout and 19th
complete game.

ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) - Pittsburgh lefthander Zach Duke set to make
his second rehabilitation start tomorrow for Double-A Altoona. Duke
is on the disabled list with a left elbow strain.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Brian Schneider's game-ending homer in the
12th inning gave the Phillies a 4-3 win over the NL Central-leading
Cincinnati Reds last night. Shane Victorino also had a solo homer
for the struggling Phillies, who had lost seven of 10. They
overcame another blown save by Brad Lidge to win this one.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Phillies have activated reliever Ryan
Madson from the 60-day disabled list and sent left-hander Mike
Zagurski to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Madson broke his right big toe
kicking a chair after blowing a save at San Francisco on April
28th. Madson gave up a run in one inning last night against the
Reds.

OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) - Somebody forgot to remind Kelli Shean she's
an amateur. The University of Arkansas golfer playing in only her
second major professional tournament, shot a 1-under 70 to take the
clubhouse lead in the opening round of the U.S. Women's Open at
Oakmont yesterday. LPGA champion Christie Kerr finished the round
1-over and tied for eighth.

OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) - Michelle Wie has shot an 11-over 82 to play
herself out of contention after one round of the U.S. Women's Open.
She couldn't find the fairways, winding up in too many of Oakmont
Country Club's bunkers. Once she finally reached Oakmont's
infamously treacherous greens, her game got even worse.

NEW YORK (AP) - Manchester United will be bringing captain Gary
Neville and stars Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes on its North American
Tour. Manager Alex Ferguson also says that Darren Fletcher, Dimitar
Berbatov and Edwin Van der Sar will join the Premier League club as
it plays in Philadelphia, Toronto, Houston and Kansas City this
summer.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Army and Penn will play in the
first game of a college basketball doubleheader December 4th before
Duke faces Butler in a rematch of last season's NCAA championship
game. The Army-Penn game at Izod Center starts at noon. Army and
Penn have met 32 times, with the Quakers leading 20-12.
