VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - A spokesman for the Virginia Beach nightclub where Michael Vick held his birthday bash says the Eagles quarterback left in a car just four minutes before a shooting outside. That contradicts the timeline given by Vick's attorney, who says his client was gone at least 10 minutes before the gunfire.

CINCINNATI (AP) - Cincinnati's Jay Bruce hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning off Roy Halladay to sink the Phillies to a 4-3 loss to the Reds yesterday. Joey Votto also homered off Halladay, who is just 2-4 since his perfect game on May 29th.

CHICAGO (AP) - Pittsburgh's Brad Lincoln pitched seven strong innings for his first major league win, a 2-0 victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field yesterday. Garrett Jones had a key RBI double for the Bucs, who have beaten the Cubs nine times in 12 meetings. That means one third of their victories this year have come against Chicago.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Flyers have signed goalie Michael Leighton to a two-year deal, keeping the playoff hero away from NHL free agency. Leighton stepped up during the postseason and helped the Flyers make a surprise run to the Stanley Cup finals. He went
8-3 with a 2.56 goals-against average in 14 playoff games.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Penn State and Syracuse are renewing their long football rivalry with a game at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. The contest in August 2013 will be the first of a three-game series. The two schools also are working to finalize an agreement to play a home-and-home series in 2020-21.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say the 2-year-old son of former Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham is dead after apparently drowning in a backyard hot tub. Las Vegas police say it appears to have been an accident. Police tell The Las Vegas Review-Journal that a woman at the house with several other children found the boy Tuesday tried to resuscitate him.

PHOENIX (AP) - Undrafted first-team All-American Scottie Reynolds will play for the Phoenix Suns' Las Vegas Summer League squad. The 6-foot-2 guard from Villanova was the first AP
All-American unselected in the draft since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Phillie Phanatic is being sued by a Pennsylvania woman who says she was hurt when the furry green mascot climbed on top of her during a Reading Phillies game two years ago. Her lawyer tells The Philadelphia Inquirer that Grace Crass had to have knee replacement surgery after the incident. She's suing the Phillies, the Reading club and Tom Burgoyne, who plays the Phanatic.
