PHOENIX (AP) - Prince Fielder hit a three-run homer, Roy
Halladay and his relief stayed in control and the National League
beat the AL 5-1 in the All-Star game last night for its first
two-game winning streak since the mid-1990s. The victory gave the
NL home-field advantage in the World Series. Boston ace Josh
Beckett warmed up, then bowed out with a sore knee.

NEW YORK (AP) - Lawyers representing the NFL and the players'
association met in New York once again yesterday to clarify the
language in a potential collective bargaining agreement. Owners and
players will meet today, with several deadlines looming over the
next couple of weeks. Meantime, the Rams and Bears are scheduled to
open training camps late next week.

NEW YORK (AP) - Two people with knowledge of the situation say
locked-out NBA players will have their escrow money returned to
them for the first time because salaries fell below 57 percent of
league revenues last season. The players will get about $160
million back when a final audit of league revenues is completed
later this month.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Ex-Penn State guard Taran Buie is due
in court today. He faces misdemeanor charges including theft and
receiving stolen property. Court documents show the charges are
related to two cellphones. Buie was suspended in December for
violating team rules and didn't play again. He left Penn State in
April and verbally committed to transfer to Hofstra.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - A federal judge has thrown out former
Penn State running back Austin Scott's civil lawsuit. Scott filed
the suit against the university, police and a female acquaintance
over a rape charge that was later dropped. The judge says he found
no evidence to support Scott's accusation the school, police and
the woman conspired against him.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - One of the first African-Americans to play
for the Philadelphia Eagles has died. Ralph Goldston was 82.
Goldston played in 27 games for the Eagles between 1952-55. The
team says he died Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Golfer Tiger Woods is the latest celebrity
and athlete to get biography treatment in a comic book. Publisher
Bluewater Productions Incorporated says it will release its
one-shot issue "Fame: Tiger Woods" today in book stores, comic
book shops and online.
