Friday's Games

Philadelphia 3, Florida 2

MIAMI (AP) - After 30 straight innings without a run, the Phillies scored last night in the fourth inning against the Marlins. The Phillies had gone scoreless in 49 of their previous 50 innings, plus hadn't managed a run against an opponent's starter in a week. It also ensured the Phillies wouldn't become the first team since 1992 to be shut out in four straight games. Ryan Howard had two hits and scored Philadelphia's first run in 31 innings on a triple by Raul Ibanez, Chase Utley drove in the go-ahead run and the Phillies snapped out of a slump to beat the Florida Marlins 3-2. The Phillies had been shut out in each of their last three games and in four of five overall.

Atlanta 7, Pittsburgh 3

ATLANTA (AP) - David Ross and Chipper Jones each drove in three runs, Derek Lowe remained undefeated in his career against Pittsburgh and the surging Atlanta Braves beat the Pirates 7-3. The Braves had 13 hits, including three by Ross, while improving to 8-2 in their last 10 games. Pittsburgh right-hander Charlie Morton has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder fatigue. Reliever Steven Jackson was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to
fill Morton's roster spot before last night's game at Atlanta. The Pirates have not named a replacement for Morton in their rotation.
