PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Flyers hung on to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 last night to even the Stanley Cup finals at 2-all. PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Chicageo Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson picked a bad time for his roughest night in the playoffs. He coughed up the puck twice in front of his net in the
first period, and the opportunistic Philadelphia Flyers took advantage of both gaffes. Chicago's 5-3 loss sent them to their first true losing streak in months.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Roy Halladay pitched seven innings in his first start since his perfect game, working out of trouble to help the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 3-2 last night. Halladay allowed 10 hits and walked one, but held San Diego to two runs in his first game since his gem against the Florida Marlins last Saturday.
PITTSBURGH (AP) -The San Francisco Giants erased a four-run deficit to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-4 last night. The Giants went deep three times against Zach Duke, who waited through weather delays totaling 6 hours, 7 minutes over two nights to pitch only to fail to hold a 4-0 lead.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pirates optioned left-hander Brian Burres to Triple-A Indianapolis to create a roster spot for left-hander Dana Eveland, who was acquired in a trade with Toronto on Tuesday. Brad Lincoln appears ready for a promotion after going 6-2 at Triple-A Indianapolis, but he is not being called up.

Clint Bowyer qualified second, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. was third.
LONG POND, Pa. (AP) - NASCAR driver Jeff Burton says he doesn't plan to start an ongoing feud with Kyle Busch and that he's already over their run-in during last week's race at Charlotte. The four-time Sprint Cup champion is competing Saturday at Watkins Glen International in a six-hour Grand-Am Rolex Series race and then headed to Pocono Raceway for the Cup race on Sunday.
