PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Cole Hamels threw eight impressive innings
and Jimmy Rollins drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.

last night to snap a four-game losing streak. Hamels allowed one
run and five hits, striking out eight for his first career win
against the Rockies.
MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) - Authorities in Washington say they've
recovered a stolen 2008 World Series ring belonging to Philadelphia
Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick. The Skagit Valley Herald reports
Kendrick's ring was stolen when burglars broke into his unoccupied
house in late March. Yesterday, Snohomish County deputies recovered
the ring in a swamp near Bothell, Washington.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has fond
memories of Harmon Killebrew. His former Minnesota Twins teammate
and longtime friend passed away Tuesday after a battle with
esophageal cancer. Killebrew was 74. Manuel says he will be missed.
CINCINNATI (AP) - The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati
Reds 5-0 last night, ending a 6-game slide. Charlie Morton shut
down Cincinnati's powerful lineup again, throwing a five-hitter for
his second career shutout. And Pedro Alvarez hit a three-run homer.
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Dallas, Fort Worth and cities in between
are seeking reimbursement for Super Bowl costs. The cities have
asked the state for reimbursement of security costs and other local
expenses from this year's Super Bowl in Arlington. The Packers beat
the Steelers 31-25 during the game on February 6th.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and partner
Kym Johnson have advanced to the "Dancing with the Stars" final.
