Barket named Scholar Athlete

Schuylkill Haven football standout Zach Barket added another award to his resume last night, Schuylkill County’s Scholar Athlete. The nation’s leading high school running back was one of 14 nominees from area high schools. Barket, who is planning to continue his football and academic career at Lehigh University, had some wise advice for young athletes:

Sunday night, Schuylkill County's Scholar Athlete will be selected at the 48th annual dinner at Pine View Acres. Sponsored by the Schuylkill Chapter Number 25 National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, the event salutes the best of the best of county high school football players who excel on the gridiron, in the classroom and in their community.
