PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Sam Dalembert had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Philadelphia 76ers to a 98-86 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. Thaddeus Young scored 20 points for the Sixers and Allen Iverson had 17. Dalembert made all seven of his shots and had three blocks.

NEW YORK (AP) - The NBA and its players' association will contribute $1 million to support the relief efforts in Haiti. And Haiti native Samuel Dalembert of the 76ers has taped a public service announcement for UNICEF encouraging fans to contribute. He is making a $100,000 donation to UNICEF and also pledged to match donations made by fans at Friday's game.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Even after Pitt barely beat Wofford, then stumbled past New Hampshire, Pitt coach Jamie Dixon insisted Pitt would be a good team. Now the No. 16 Panthers are exactly that. Picked to finish ninth in the Big East, they're 4-0 going into Saturday's game against Louisville.

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland (AP) - Eric Bernotas is the first American in nearly two years to win a World Cup skeleton race. Bernotas, of Avondale, Pa., won in 1 minute, 9.15 seconds. The event was shortened to one run by race officials because of conditions at the start of the track. Kristan Bromley of Britain was 0.07 seconds back and World Cup leader Martins Dukurs of Latvia was third.

PHOENIX (AP) - First baseman Adam LaRoche and the Arizona Diamondbacks have finalized a $4.5 million, one-year contract. His deal includes a $7.5 million mutual option for 2011. The
30-year-old hit .277 for Atlanta, Boston and Pittsburgh last season with 25 homers and 83 RBIs. He has a .274 career average in six seasons.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Jordan Staal set up Pittsburgh's three
third-period goals in the Penguins' 3-2 comeback victory over the
Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. Tyler Kennedy started the
Penguins' rally with a goal at 3:18 of the third, Matt Cooke tied
it at 6:48 and Pascal Dupuis scored the winner with 9:30 left. The
Penguins improved to 3-1 on their five-game trip.

TORONTO (AP) - Vesa Toskala made 38 saves for his first shutout
since October 2008, Tyler Bozak scored his first NHL goal and the
Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0 on Thursday
night. The Flyers lost for just the third time in 11 games.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Chris Harris scored 29 points and made all
14 of his free throw attempts and Navy pulled away from Lehigh
94-83 on Thursday night. The Midshipmen snapped the Mountain Hawks'
six-game winning streak despite 31 points from Lehigh freshman C.J.
McCollum, who tied his career-high.

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) - Travis Taylor scored 20 points and Monmouth
used a late surge to defeat Saint Francis of Pennsylvania 63-53 on
Thursday night and win its fifth straight game. Anthony Ervin
scored 12 points for the Red Flash.

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) - Karon Abraham scored all 20 of his
points in the second half to help Robert Morris defeat Fairleigh
Dickinson 80-73 on Thursday night. Robert Morris won its fourth in
a row and 15th straight at home against Northeast Conference
opponents.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Eagles have fired Ted Daisher and hired
former Bills assistant Bobby April to be their special teams
coordinator. Daisher spent one season as Philadelphia's special
teams coach. April worked in Buffalo the last six seasons and put
together some of the league's top-ranked special teams.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired Sean Kugler
as their offensive line coach. Kugler replaces Larry Zierlein, an
original member of Steelers coach Mike Tomlin's staff in 2007.
Zierlein and special teams coordinator Bob Ligashesky were fired
last week after the Steelers missed the playoffs.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Phillies closer Brad Lidge may not be ready
for the start of the season after undergoing his second surgery in
three months. Team officials say Lidge had surgery Wednesday to
remove loose bodies in his right knee. The right-hander also
underwent elbow surgery on his throwing arm in November.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Guillaume Latendresse scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period after getting three assists, boosting the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday night. Sidney Crosby scored his 28th for Pittsburgh, which also got goals from Pascal Dupuis and Mark Eaton.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand scored 18 points each, Allen Iverson added 16 and the Philadelphia 76ers snapped a four-game home losing streak with a 96-92 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Monday night. Thaddeus Young and Lou Williams added 12 points each and Samuel Dalembert had six points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for the Sixers.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Scottie Reynolds scored a season-high 36 points, including a game-clinching layup in the final minute, to lead No. 4 Villanova past Louisville 92-84 on Monday night. Reynolds made 9 of 10 from the field, including all five of his 3-point attempts, as the Wildcats (15-1, 4-0 Big East) snapped a three-game losing streak to the Cardinals (12-5, 3-1).

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Donovan McNabb will be back for a 12th season in Philadelphia. That was the word Monday from Eagles coach Andy Reid as he squelched speculation about McNabb's future. The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback's status was questioned because he
has one year left on his contract and he's failed to lead Philadelphia to a Super Bowl victory in 11 seasons.

CLEVELAND (AP) - New Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren continued the team's makeover on Monday by hiring Tom Heckert away from the Philadelphia Eagles. The 42-year-old Heckert will be the Browns' new general manager after spending eight years with the
Eagles, the past four seasons as their top personnel executive.

SOMERVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Former NBA star Jayson Williams took responsibility for accidentally shooting his limousine driver to death eight years ago by pleading guilty Monday to assault. The 41-year-old former 76er and New Jersey Net agreed to serve at least 18 months in prison the 2002 death of Costas Christofi at Williams' New Jersey home.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Little League plans to add a new baseball age division this year largely in hopes of keeping more children and teens involved in the game. The pilot program for 12- and 13-year-old players is designed to ease the transition to playing on professional regulation-size fields with pitching distances of 60 feet, 6 inches, and base paths of 90 feet.
