LOS ANGELES (AP) - A four-point night from Mike Richards and 32 saves from Michael Leighton paced the Philadelphia Flyers to a 7-4 rout of the Los Angeles Kings last night. Claude Giroux also had a career-high three assists for the Flyers, who face the Ducks in Anaheim tonight.

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Eighth-ranked Villanova took its heavyweight showdown with city-rival Temple last night, beating the number 25 Owls 78-74. Corey Stokes scored 24 points while Maalik Wayns scored 21. Lavoy Allen scored 22 points for the Owls. Nova is 11-1 while the Owls fall to 9-3.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Alex Bentley scored 19 points and Penn State rallied to beat 14th-ranked Iowa last night 68-59. The Hawkeyes led by seven with 6:33 to go before the Nittany Lions outscored them by 20-4 the rest of the way to get the win. Penn State goes to 12-3 with the win.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Michael Vick is unlikely to play Sunday when the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys after missing practice yesterday with a quad injury. The Eagles are locked into the number 3 seed for the NFL playoffs. Vick suffered the injury on the first play of the Eagles' Tuesday night loss to the Vikings.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The NFL has trimmed its fine of Steelers linebacker James Harrison by $25,000 for his mid-October hit on Browns wide-out Mohamed Massaquoi. The league's appeals officer says he reduced the fine to $50,000 because he says Harrison has made an effort to adjust his tackling technique to play within the
rules.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Temple's women kept it close much of the night but fell to 3rd-ranked Duke last night, 71-64. Karima Christmas scored 20 points in the win to keep Duke undefeated. Qwedia Wallace scored 21 points to lead the Owls, who fell to 7-6
with loss.

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - One of the greatest streaks in sports is over. After 90 victories over two and a-half seasons, the longest winning streak in college basketball ended with ninth-ranked Stanford upsetting top-ranked Connecticut 71-59 behind Jeanette Pohlen's 31 points.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Marcus Jordan, son of legendary NBA great Michael Jordan, scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half to help No. 19 Central Florida rally to a 68-62 win over Princeton in the final of the UCF Holiday Classic. The 13-0 Knights are one of seven remaining Division 1 undefeated teams.

NEW YORK (AP) - The first college bowl game in New York City in 48 years proved to be a hit - especially for Syracuse. The Orange finished their season 8-5 with their first bowl victory since 2001 by holding off Kansas State 36-34 before a crowd of 38,274 at the big ballpark in the Bronx.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A person familiar with the ruling tells The Associated Press that Michigan backup quarterback Tate Forcier is academically ineligible for the New Year's Day Gator Bowl against No. 21 Mississippi State. The school is saying only that Forcier "did not meet university standards."

BOSTON (AP) - Celtics star Kevin Garnett could miss two weeks with a strained right calf. Celts GM Danny Ainge says an MRI and a thorough examination showed Garnett's injury Wednesday night had nothing to do with his right knee, which was surgically
repaired after the 2008-09 season.

Today's Sports-Thursday,December 30, 2010

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Sidney Crosby's 25-game point streak was snapped by the Islanders and goalie Rick DiPietro, who stopped the Pittsburgh captain and the rest of the Penguins' high-powered offense in a 2-1 shootout victory last night. Crosby had at least a point in every game since November 3rd at Dallas.

PHOENIX (AP) - Jrue Holiday scored 25 points and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Phoenix Suns 123-110 last night. Evan Turner scored 23 points off the bench and Andres Nocioni finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Sixers. Philadelphia was without Andre Iguodala, who missed his second straight game with tendinitis in his right Achilles' tendon.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles coach Andy Reid says he hasn't decided if Michael Vick's leg bruise will keep the quarterback out of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Vick sustained a quad contusion on the first play of the Eagles' 24-14 loss to the Vikings on Tuesday night. The Eagles don't need Vick to play Sunday because their playoff position is set.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Fox analyst Tucker Carlson says Eagles quarterback Michael Vick "should have been executed" for his role in a dogfighting ring. Carlson was guest hosting for Sean Hannity's show on Fox News Channel on Tuesday night when he made the remarks. He was discussing President Barack Obama's commending of Eagles
owner Jeffrey Lurie for giving Vick a second chance.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A game the Steelers were hoping would mean nothing now means everything, and they know it. The Steelers wanted to have the AFC North and a playoff bye wrapped up by now. They don't, and that means Sunday's game at Cleveland has the potential to significantly damage their chances of winning the Super Bowl
even before the NFL playoffs begin.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - There isn't much winter in the Winter Classic forecast. Air Science Consultants, a suburban Pittsburgh firm that is advising the NHL, predicts a high of 54 with showers Saturday for the Capitals-Penguins outdoor game at Heinz Field. The league said the ice can be kept stable, but any rain poses a risk to the
players that might require a delay.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The NHL has suspended Flyers forward Jody Shelley for two games for hitting Vancouver defenseman Andrew Alberts. Shelly was given a five-minute match penalty in Tuesday's game for a punch on Alberts, who was down on the ice and then forced to leave the game with 7:31 left.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Penn State athletic director Tim Curley plans to meet with Joe Paterno next month and expects the 84-year old coach to return for the 2011 season. Curley says no date has been set yet for the meeting. Paterno insisted he has no plans to stop coaching after this week's game against Florida.

VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) - Temple vs. Villanova on the marquee can sell itself in Philadelphia. Throw in all the intriguing subplots surrounding tonight's game and it's easily the marquee matchup of the season in city hoops. Bragging rights are on the line when Number 25 Temple plays at Number 8 Villanova.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Kyle Singler scored 27 and Nolan Smith added 26 as top-ranked Duke routed North Carolina-Greensboro 108-62 to give coach Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF'-skee) sole possession of second place on the men's all-time wins list with his 880th victory. Coach K moved past longtime rival Dean Smith, and now
trails all-time leading Bob Knight by 22 victories.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame might be poised to crack the top 10 teams in The Associated Press rankings after the 15th-ranked Irish spanked ninth-ranked Georgetown 69-55 in their Big East opener. Tim Abromaitis scored 20 points and Tyrone Nash added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the 12-1 Irish.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Sidney Crosby's 25-game point streak was snapped by the New York Islanders and goalie Rick DiPietro, who stopped the Pittsburgh captain and the rest of the Penguins' high-powered offense in a 2-1 shootout victory. Crosby had at least a point in every game since Nov. 3 in a streak in which Crosby produced 26 goals and 24 assists.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Da'Rel Scott ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns to help send Maryland coach Ralph Friedgen out a winner in the Military Bowl. The Atlantic Coast Conference coach of the year, who's being fired by his alma mater after winning 60 percent of his games over 10 years, coached the Terps to a 51-20 rout of East Carolina in his final game.

NEW YORK (AP) - Minnesota QB Brett Favre is being fined $50,000 for not cooperating with the NFL's investigation into an alleged sexting incident. The league was looking into allegations that he sent text messages and lewd photos to a former New York Jets game-day hostess when he played for the team in 2008.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Convicted dogfighting-ring operator Michael
Vick hopes to own a dog again someday - and the head of the Humane
Society of the United States says he's fine with that, once Vick is
off probation. The Eagles quarterback tells TheGrio.com that he
genuinely cares for animals and one day hopes to have a dog as a
household pet.

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Two people with direct knowledge of the
decision say Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer has been fined
$12,500 by the NFL for knocking helmets with Philadelphia
quarterback Michael Vick. Spencer was penalized for a personal foul
on the hard hit right after Vick threw the ball on what was an
incompletion late in the first half Sunday night.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers tight end Heath Miller has missed
practice due to an exercise-related headache, putting his status
for Sunday's game against the Jets in question. Miller sustained a
concussion December 5th against Baltimore, causing him to miss last

was fined $40,000 for the helmet hit.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has
been limited at practice by "a little soreness" in his right
hamstring, but expects to play in the team's game at Pittsburgh on
Sunday. Coach Rex Ryan says Revis was an addition to the injury
report "that's more precautionary." Revis didn't want to discuss
the injury, saying that he was playing and he's "fine."

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Al Golden is taking five members of
his Temple staff with him to Miami. Golden announced hirings of
defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio, defensive line coach Jethro
Franklin and defensive backs coach Paul Williams. They will not
begin coaching at Miami until January 1st but have permission from
the NCAA to start recruiting immediately.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Mario Lemieux will be joined by Hall of Famers
Paul Coffey, Ron Francis, Bryan Trottier and Larry Murphy on the
Pittsburgh Penguins' roster for a Winter Classic alumni game
against the Washington Capitals on December 31st. The outdoor game
will be played the day before the Capitals-Penguins game at Heinz

Penn State advanced to the NCAA volleyball national title game,
sweeping Texas in the semifinals last night. Penn State came back

MONTREAL (AP) - The Philadelphia Flyers have extended their
winning streak to four with a 5-3 victory over the Canadiens on
Wednesday night. James van Riemsdyk scored twice for the Flyers.
Claude Giroux, Jeff Carter and Nikolay Zherdev also scored for the
Flyers, who lead the NHL with 47 points.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Rangers rallied for a 4-1 victory over the
Pittsburgh Penguins last night. Sidney Crosby extended his point
streak to a career-high 20 games when he assisted on Evgeni
Malkin's first-period goal for Pittsburgh, but the Penguins lost
for the second straight night after winning 12 in a row.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jrue Holiday scored 24 points and Andre
Iguodala had eight of his 20 points in Philadelphia's dominating
third quarter to lead the surging 76ers to a 105-91 victory over
the road-weary Clippers last night. Spencer Hawes had 16 points and
12 rebounds, and Elton Brand contributed 15 points for the Sixers,
who have won three straight and seven of nine.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pitt is expected to introduce Miami of Ohio
football coach Michael Haywood as Dave Wannstedt's successor at a
news conference today. Haywood is the only known candidate for the
job Formerly the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame, Haywood was
1-11 in his first season at Miami in 2009 before going 9-4 this
season and beating Northern Illinois in the MAC championship game.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward said it's
better than not being on any list at all. Ward and Steelers
linebacker James Harrison are among the 50 dirtiest players in
sports history, according to a list compiled by the website
Complex.com. Ward is 28th and Harrison is 31st.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace believes
he's quickly becoming one of the NFL's best. To prove that, he
knows there's one test he still must pass. That's prove he can be
successful going against Darrelle Revis, the Jets cornerback who is
widely considered to be the NFL's best. Wallace says he's confident
he matches up well against Revis.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson did not
practice yesterday because of the sprained left foot he sustained
in Sunday's 30-27 victory over Dallas. Coach Andy Reid said Jackson
is "day to day." Jackson caught four passes for a career-high 210
yards against Dallas, and was named NFC Offensive Player of the
Week.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles rookie Jamar Chaney will literally be
thrust into the middle of the rivalry with the New York Giants on
Sunday, when he makes his first career start at middle linebacker.
Chaney, a seventh-round pick last April out of Mississippi State,
replaced Stewart Bradley early in the second quarter of a 30-27
victory over Dallas last Sunday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Cliff Lee and the Phillies have finalized a
$120 million, five-year contract that brings the star pitcher back
to Philadelphia. Lee spurned more lucrative offers from the Yankees
and Rangers to return to the Phillies, who traded him away a year
ago after he helped them reach the 2009 World Series.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pirates have signed left-hander Donnie
Veal to a minor-league contract and have invited him to their major
league spring training camp. Veal, who had Tommy John elbow
ligament surgery in June, was not tendered a contract after the
season ended.

NEW YORK (AP) - Cliff Lee is returning to Philadelphia a year
after the Phillies traded him away. The free-agent pitcher passed
up an extra $50 million from the New York Yankees and reached a
preliminary agreement on a $100 million, five-year contract with
the Phillies last night. The move gives the Phils the most feared
pitching rotation in baseball.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - One team has won 12 straight games to take
first place in the Atlantic Division. The other has gone 6-1-3 in
its last ten games to take second place. Indeed, it's a good time
to be a hockey fan in Pennsylvania. But something has to give
tonight, when the Penguins meet the Flyers in an early season
matchup of two of the league's marquee teams.

TORONTO (AP) - The NHL has suspended Philadelphia forward Jody
Shelley two games for hitting Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid from
behind. The players were chasing the puck during the second period
of Saturday's game when Shelley's two-handed shove knocked McQuaid
off his skates.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles rookie defensive end Brandon Graham
will miss the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament.
Graham tore his anterior cruciate ligament in Sunday night's 30-27
win at Dallas. The Eagles also lost middle linebacker Stewart
Bradley indefinitely. Bradley dislocated his right elbow, but coach
Andy Reid says he doesn't need surgery at this time.

NEW YORK (AP) - Vikings-Eagles will replace Chargers-Bengals as
the Sunday night game December 26th under the NFL's flexible
scheduling policy. The league said Monday the San Diego-Cincinnati
matchup would move to 4:05 p.m. EST on CBS. The shift in Week 16 is
the first time this season the NFL has changed the Sunday night
game.

NEW YORK (AP) - A pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates'
organization has been suspended 50 games under the minor league
drug program. Arquimedes Lorenzo was a member of Pittsburgh's team
in the Dominican Summer League. The commissioner's office imposed
the penalty Monday and said it will start when next season begins.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Former Temple coach Al Golden has
arrived in Miami to begin work leading the Hurricanes back to
national prominence. Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt says
Golden was the top choice as soon as their first interview in New
York ended early last week.

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) - Eastern Washington running back Taiwan
Jones has a fractured bone in his foot and is not expected to play
Friday against Villanova in the Football Championship Subdivision
semifinals. Jones fractured his left foot on Saturday in the
overtime victory over North Dakota State. He still finished with a
career-high 230 yards.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - It'll be the Leaders vs. the Legends
divisions when the Big Ten stages its first football championship
game next season. The conference also on Monday unveiled a new logo
- it is a block "Big Ten" with the numeral 10 embedded in the
word last two letters of Big - as well as two-person trophy names
for 18 new football awards, including the Stagg-Paterno
Championship Trophy.

BALTIMORE (AP) - Ben Roethlisberger threw a 9-yard touchdown
pass to Isaac Redman with 2:51 left after Troy Polamalu forced a
fumble with a sack of Joe Flacco, and the Steelers beat the Ravens
13-10 last night to gain sole possession of first place in the AFC
North. The victory leaves Pittsburgh a game ahead of the Ravens in
the division.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Daniel Briere scored the tiebreaking goal
with 5:44 left and the Philadelphia Flyers held on to beat the
Islanders yet again, 3-2 yesterday. Matt Carle and Andreas Nodl
also scored for Philadelphia, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 28 shots
for the win.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Former Phillies right fielder
Jayson Werth agreed Sunday to a $126 million, seven-year contract
with the Washington Nationals. The 31-year-old, who helped the

fourth and final season with the Phillies. He had an NL-high 46
doubles, 27 homers and 85 RBIs.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Lavoy Allen hit a crucial three-point play and

Fernandez had 14 for the Owls, who won their second straight.

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Ian Hummer scored 17 points to lead five
players in double figures as Princeton defeated Saint Joseph's
74-65 on yesterday. Carl Jones led the Hawks with 24 points. St.
Joseph's, which lost its third straight, also got 10 points from
Ronald Roberts.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Florida has accepted a bid to play Penn State
in the Outback Bowl. Penn State will be making its fourth Outback
appearance. The Nittany Lions last played in the game against
Tennessee in 2007. The Gators and Lions have met twice before.

the Nittany Lions 21-6 in the Citrus Bowl in 1998.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Pittsburgh and Kentucky will meet in the
BBVA Compass Bowl on January 8th. Pittsburgh finished in a
three-way tie for the Big East title. The Panthers have had a

CLEVELAND (AP) - LeBron James was triumphant in his return to
Cleveland, scoring a game-high 38 points in just three quarters to
lead the Miami Heat to an easy 118-90 rout of the Cavaliers. James
was booed loudly when he ran onto the court for the first time,
when he was introduced and when he rubbed powder at the press table
before throwing the residue in the air prior to the opening tip. He
also had six more baskets and 11 more points than the Cavaliers'
entire starting lineup.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Philadelphia Eagles have regained sole
possession of the NFC East lead following last night's 34-24 win
over the Houston Texans. Michael Vick threw for a touchdown and ran
for another after the Eagles blew a 14-3 lead and fell behind
24-20. Vick passed for 302 yards and two touchdowns for the 8-4
Eagles.

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago White Sox and first baseman Adam Dunn
have worked out a four-year, $56 million deal, according to a
person with knowledge of the negotiations. Dunn hit .260 with 38
homers and 103 RBIs for the Washington Nationals last season. The
White Sox also exercised a club option on shortstop Alexei Ramirez
for next season.

NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Yankees have increased their
contract offer to Derek Jeter. The Bombers opened with a $45
million, three-year offer last month, then awaited a formal
proposal from its captain. It was not known whether the new offer
improved the value, contract length or both.

ZURICH (AP) - Soccer's World Cup won't be coming to the United
States anytime soon after the country lost out in the bidding for
the 2022 tournament. Qatar (GUH'-tur) received the right to host
the 2022 event by receiving 14 votes compared to eight for the U.S.
in the final balloting. The latest sports setback for America comes
after lost bids for the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Tim Thomas stopped Scott Hartnell on a
second-period penalty shot and finished with 41 saves for his
NHL-leading fifth shutout of the season in the Bruins' 3-0 victory
over the Flyers last night. It was the first meeting between the
clubs since May when the Flyers rallied from a 3-0 series deficit
to beat the Bruins in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Matt Schaub watched Michael Vick in awe as
his backup in Atlanta, learning from one of the NFL's biggest
stars. When the Texans visit the Eagles tonight, it'll be a reunion
for the two quarterbacks. It also will be a homecoming for Schaub,
who played high school football 22 miles west of the Linc at West
Chester East High.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has lashed
out at the NFL for what he calls its hypocritical stance on many
issues, including player safety. He says the league suddenly is
emphasizing player safety only because it wants to expand to an
18-game season.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Much-fined Steelers linebacker James Harrison
believes he is being targeted by the NFL for his hard hitting. He
doesn't plan to change the way he plays, even if coach Mike Tomlin
suggests he should. Steelers player representative Ryan Clark has
contacted the NFL Players Association to complain about the
league's treatment of Harrison.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger missed
only a few snaps in practice despite a sprained right foot that
requires him to wear a protective boot away from the playing field.
Roethlisberger missed only a dozen or so snaps yesterday after
being fitted with a reinforced shoe that stabilizes the foot yet
allows enough movement to play.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pirates have signed right-hander Fernando
Nieve, infielder Andy Marte and catcher Dusty Brown to minor league
contracts. All have received invitations to the Pirates' major
league spring training camp. The Pirates previously invited minor
league relievers Justin Thomas and Sean Gallagher to spring
training.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A person familiar with a Pennsylvania
billionaire's interest to buy the Buffalo Sabres tells the AP that
team owner Tom Golisano has not yet made up his mind on whether to
sell the NHL franchise. The person confirmed that Terry Pegula is a
candidate to buy the Sabres, and added that Golisano is giving the
offer "serious consideration" but has not yet made a decision.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pitt's Ashton Gibbs scored 22 points, Gary
McGhee wore down smaller Duquesne with 12 points and 13 rebounds
and Number 3 Pittsburgh beat its city rival 80-66 last night in the
first basketball game in the Consol Energy Center. Bill Clark and
Damian Saunders scored 20 points each for Duquesne.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Jordan Williams had 15 points and 11
rebounds and Maryland overcame a slow start in a 62-39 win over
Penn State last night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Talor Battle
had 21 points for the Nittany Lions in what was billed as the
school's biggest nonconference game since the Jordan Center opened
in 1996.

WPPA / T-102 SPORTS / Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Elton Brand scored 18 points while Jrue
Holiday and Andres Nocioni added 11 each to help the 76ers beat the
Trail Blazers 88-79 last night. Philadelphia trailed 72-70 midway
through the fourth, before going on a 15-4 run that put the game
away with 1:50 left.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been
fined $25,000 for his hit on Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Harrison now has four fines this season totaling $125,000. Harrison
drew a roughing-the-passer penalty for hitting Fitzpatrick
helmet-first in the back during Pittsburgh's 19-16 overtime victory
Sunday.

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is
wearing a protective boot on his sprained right foot but is
expected to play Sunday when Pittsburgh and Baltimore face off for
first place in the AFC North. Roethlisberger re-injured the foot
last Sunday. Roethlisberger may not practice today, but coach Mike
Tomlin is optimistic he will play.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson says he
and his teammates are "on to the next game," and downplayed any
speculation that he's unhappy with head coach Andy Reid, his
teammates or his diminished role in Philadelphia's offense.
Jackson, on pace for the fewest catches of his three NFL seasons,
was visibly upset after Sunday's 31-26 loss in Chicago.

NEW YORK (AP) - The last-place Cowboys are getting another
chance in prime time. Dallas' matchup December 12th against the
Philadelphia Eagles will remain on Sunday night even though the NFL
could have moved a different game into the slot under its flexible
scheduling rules.

EASTON, Pa. (AP) - Ian Hummer scored 22 points and Princeton
shot 75 percent from the field in the second half to pull away from
Lafayette 82-64 last night. Jared Mintz and Jim Mower scored 17
each to lead the Leopards, who shot 40 percent.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Miles Cartwright scored 19 points and Jack
Eggleston 17 to lead Pennsylvania to a 71-59 victory over winless
Maryland-Baltimore County last night. Cartwright, the Ivy League
Rookie of the Week, scored 12 of his points in the first half, when
the Quakers rallied from a 12-6 deficit to a 32-26 lead at the
break.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - In calling Terrence Pegula "a great guy,"
Buffalo Sabres minority owner Larry Quinn has declined to confirm a
report that the Pennsylvania billionaire is interested in buying
the NHL franchise. Though the Sabres are not formally up for sale,
Quinn didn't rule out the possibility of majority owner Tom
Golisano one day selling the team.
